Antarctic Flight will be Carbon Neutral
Polar Running Adventures is certified by the CarbonNeutral Company for carbon offsetting projects and will neutralise the CO2 impact of its chartered flight to Antarctica. Competitors can travel to the Antarctic continent with the knowledge that their flight will have official Carbon Neutral status.
Polar Running Adventures was also the first business to completely neutralise the CO2 effects of its flights to the North Pole (for the North Pole Marathon). First, the CO2 impact is scientifically calculated on the basis of the type of aircraft used, fuel burn rate, fuel type and flight duration. Second, this calculated impact is offset by an investment in a mix of approved global projects such as tree-planting / forestry development.
