Antarctic 100k is IAU-labelled race for 2009
The Antarctic 100k has been awarded the bronze label of the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) for 2009. The award is reserved for accurately measured and monitored trail and mountain races. The 100k remains the only ultra race in the Antarctic recognised by the IAU for record purposes.
The Ice Marathon & 100k are not only the southernmost marathon and ultramarathon races on earth, respectively, but the only ones that take place within the Antarctic Circle or the interior of the continent.
