Ice Marathon TV Programme nominated for International Emmy

7 November 2012: A one-hour TV production on the Antarctic Ice Marathon has been nominated for an International Emmy Award. The Gala takes place in New York on 19 November 2012.

The film, called 'Extreme Planet', was made by TV Globo (Brazil) and is one of four nominees in the 'non scripted entertainment' category.

The 'Planeta Extremo' production focussed on the 2010 edition of the Antarctic Ice Marathon & 100k. Claudio Marques, one of the programme makers, is very hopeful this could be the second time in its history that TV Globo's sports department wins an Emmy.

Update: Extreme Planet did not win but TV Globo can be proud to be one of the final four nominees. See Part 1 of 3 below:
