Juny has completed marathons on six different continents: Air Force Marathon (Dayton, Ohio), Dubai, Kilimanjaro, Perth, Brasilia, and Barcelona, making the Antarctic Ice Marathon his seventh and final continent. He will dedicate this accomplishment to 7 Puerto Rican athletes he admires: Roberto Clemente, the first Latin American to be inducted into Baseball’s Hall of Fame; Felix “Tito” Trinidad, Boxing champion and Hall of Famer; Monica Puig, Puerto Rico’s first Olympic Gold medalist in tennis; Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Women’s 100 meters hurdles Gold Medalist; Carlos Arroyo, Olympic Basketball player; Amanda Serrano, Puerto Rican Boxing legend; Jorge Luis “Peco” González, Puerto Rican Olympic runner. Juny is also aiming to become the first Puerto Rican male to join the 7 Continent Marathon Club by running in the interior of Antarctica, not on King George Island outside the Antarctic Circle.

Karime

Pinera

mexico

Twenty years ago, Karime fell in love with long-distance running, but the miles have taken a toll on her knees, leading doctors to advise her not to run one more mile. She always knew this moment would come, but she wasn't ready to hear it. Karime wants to experience the fatigue of following a training plan and the excitement of choosing her outfit for the run, feeling like a gladiator at the starting line. She wants to savor every mile, knowing these might be her last. She longs to feel the surge of emotions that flood your mind and heart when crossing the finish line. The Antarctic Ice Marathon will undoubtedly be her most challenging, as she will walk it, but she believes Antarctica is the perfect place to bid farewell to her greatest passion and have the honor of receiving her second medal of the 7 continents.
